As we do every year, the Staunton Clinic will be having influenza vaccination clinics twice this fall.  The first clinic was held Thursday, October 9thand the second influenza clinic will be held Thursday October 30th. 

There is no need to make an appointment, just come anytime from 1 PM to 4 PM.  The vaccinations are given on a first-come, first-served basis.  Your insurance will be charged for the vaccine, but if your insurance does not cover influenzavaccination, then you can pay for the administration and vaccine at time of service.

Pneumonia vaccines are also available during the flu clinic for those who need this vaccine.  Primarily, this is individuals over the age of 65, who generally receive one pneumonia vaccine at age 65 and then a booster five years later.

If you cannot come for the flu clinic, you can still get your flu shot at the clinic.  Just call to make an appoitnment and we will take care of you.

Remember that the flu vaccine is recommended for many people, including:

• All people over age 50
• All children from 6 months of age to their 19th birthday
• People with chronic medical conditions, including diabetes
  
• People with respiratory problems, such as COPD and asthma 
• Household contacts with children under 6 months of age and household contacts of other high-risk individuals
• Residents of long term care facilities, such as nursing homes
